Kuala Lumpur, 26 October 2018 - KFC Malaysia is a proud winner of the recently concluded Putra Brand, The People Choice Awards 2018, bagging its fourth consecutive Gold in the Fast Food & Restaurant category since 2015, therefore crowned with one of the most coveted accolades of the night, the Putra Brand Icon Award.

Over 7,000 interviews were conducted in the biggest brand research ever in Malaysia to determine the country’s most preferred brands. KFC Malaysia once again reigned supreme as the #1 people’s choice brand, in the high octane awards night held at the Majestic Hotel. A total of 148 awards were presented including three Putra Brand Icon Awards, during the ceremony which was attended by more than 1,300 guests, from leaders of powerhouse brands, the marketers to agencies.

“It is indeed a proud moment for KFC Malaysia to receive the Gold Award for the fourth time in a row together with the honour of the Brand Icon Award. We have been serving Malaysians Finger Lickin’ Good moments since 1973. Our hard work and enthusiasm, supported with our continuous innovations, strategies and service excellence have led to this recognition. Ultimately the endorsement from our customer truly says it all,” said Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Managing Director of QSR Brands.

The year 2018 has been a stellar year for the KFC brand and it is showing no sign of slowing down. The brand is on its digital transformation journey and continues to optimise its digital assets as part of its efforts to enhance overall customer experience. This year saw the launch of KFC Malaysia’s mobile app and ‘chatbot’ to offer more convenience to the customers for a quick order of freshly prepared KFC to their doorstep. The brand intends to further strengthen its delivery service through strategic partnerships with leading online delivery service aggregators.

KFC Malaysia is also keeping a dynamic momentum with its nationwide expansion moves. The brand has recently launched its 700th restaurant in Bandar Seri Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan which was officiated by the CEO of Yum! Brands Inc., Greg Creed.

Launched in 2010, the Putra Brand Awards is an initiative by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) to recognise local and international brands closest to the hearts of Malaysians, measuring brands by consumer preference. This premier brand awards is the only brand awards in the country endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and chosen by the people, for the people.
